GIS Mapping

The Palmerton Group provided design and implementation of a geographic information system (GIS) for one of the world's largest oil companies. The GIS is used to track the location of and data for over 1200 oil wells and associated properties. Using field inspection, GPS locating, historical records research, and review of government databases, oil wells were located and evaluated for compliance with environmental and plugging regulations. The GIS data was instrumental in obtaining closure and "no further action" letters for more than 500 wells over a three year period.
